Curious for development and eager to innovate?! The Dutch Base of the Pyramid Innovation Center (BoP Inc.) will be officially launched on October 6th to enhance the role of the poor and the private sector as central agents in sustainable poverty alleviation strategies.
It is the ambition of the BoP Inc. to facilitate your curiosity for pro-poor innovation strategies and stimulate your eagerness to contribute to more effective private sector strategies in low income markets, the so-called BoP market. The BoP Inc. creates the momentum that is necessary to align the activities of private sector, governments, NGOs and knowledge institutes, to accelerate the impact and effectiveness of inclusive business strategies in developing countries.
During the kick-off event, a number of key-note speakers, including Prof. Stuart Hart, one of the founders of the BoP approach, will put the agenda of the BoP Inc. within the international context of growing attention for market driven innovations in low-income markets. Furthermore, the new website will be presented and the business development plans of the Center will be outlined. Also participants will be invited to contribute to setting the agenda of pressing issues the Center will focus on during the next 5 years.
